Red Headed Book Lover Blog Interview

RED HEADED BOOK LOVER BLOG

Last week, I introduced you to Aimee Ann and her blog. A book-loving blogger, Aimee Ann enjoys reading and reviewing books that she loves. I was honored to have her share my book Realm Walk and give it 5/5 Stars. However, she didn't stop there. This fellow red-head also shared an interview she had with me on her Author Spotlight the week of the September 7th.

She was kind enough to include me with other fabulous authors whose books she has read and loved. It is one of the greatest privileges I've ever had, and Aimee Ann is the kindest person in the world! It was an amazing experience, and I can't thank her enough for making me a part of her world.

Aimee Ann is also a huge advocate for our armed forces, and in particular, our wounded heroes. I support military charities as well and hope you'll check out the four foundations who help others in need that she has posted on her site. It's my hope you'll enjoy checking out the Red Headed Book Lover blog and the books and authors Aimee Ann shares!

If you missed it last week, feel free to check out my blog and the link there for the review she posted on my Sleeping Beauty retelling, Realm Walk

Here's an excerpt from her interview with me:
"Rebecca is a truly exceptional writer and I hope that you lovely readers have a read of Rebecca’s work because you will not regret it! Please see below an interview between me and Rebecca, I hope that you enjoy Rebecca’s answers to my questions, they are incredible and provide some great advice too!"

Q: Could you please tell us readers about your book and what inspired you to write your book?
A: "Realm Walk is my own take on Sleeping Beauty. It’s a retelling that features elves, hybrids, witches, warlocks, Greek gods and goddesses, and mermaids. That might sound like a lot, but you don’t know what Maezy is up against.

Maezy has been taught since birth that her father, the Elf King, would stop at nothing to take her from her mother. Maezy has a gift anyone would love to possess, but her father would use it to dominate the world. Every realm would be his to command, with a little bit of maneuvering and a whole lot of blackmail. However, Maezy doesn’t want to help her father in any way.

Unfortunately, she might not have a choice. He’s found the one person who can slash through her mother’s defenses and wiggle through their magic. To add insult to injury, it’s a hybrid-elf-warlock who’s her age and not bad on the eyes.

Brandalfr has his own reasons for helping the powerful Elf King. If he can just stick it out long enough, he’ll be able to win his reward and be done. Working with this elf, though, is not easy and not what he expected.

Her mother’s plan may thwart both their good intentions, and if they can’t work together to defeat her father and escape, there might not be any hope of staying alive and evading her father’s strategies for war

After all, her mother always taught her to never trust an elf.

I was inspired to write this version after I had written my other fairy tale retellings. Maezy, Brandalfr, and her whole story came to me in an instant. Sometimes, it’s like that. To start though, Anne Elisabeth Stengl and Rooglewood Press had contests for different retellings. I participated in the first couple and gained great feedback from the judges.

This led me to be inspired to continue my writing and revise the ones I’d already written. From there, my twelve-year-old self-decided that I wanted to follow through with my life-long dream of being a writer, and I decided to give self-publishing a try. I researched it, and I hoped to share my stories with others. A few terrifying months later, I pushed publish. I’ve been pleased with my decision ever since."
