Paperbacks Are Here!

MY DEBUT AT HALF-PRICE BOOKS

On September 5th, I came home to a glorious surprise. The coolest event I've had in awhile. Three boxes sat on my kitchen table. Inside, every one of my five books. My four fairytale retellings and poetry book.

It was such a feeling! I was so happy I could have burst! If you're a writer, you know the feeling. If you're a reader, I'm sure you can imagine it.

Sorting out my books, I set aside the ones I knew I'd be sharing with my betas --  who were the most amazing readers throughout my writing and launch process. They gave me invaluable feedback, and I appreciated their words of wisdom and kindness!!

Next, I set aside one book of each to donate to my local bookstore, and the place I love to call home: Half Price Books. My manager and coworkers have been supportive of my writing journey. They've been considerate every step of the way asking how my writing has progressed, helping give their thoughts on the covers, and allowing me to prattle on about them nonstop.

Believe me when I say, these people are the kindest and coolest humans I know. So, when my manager created a display of all my books and made a flyer as well, I almost cried. It is by far the greatest and most beautiful thing anyone has ever done for me. I felt like a rockstar for a few days (until all of the books were bought by my cousin who wanted an immediate, signed copy -- Thanks, Charlotte!!), and I've had a few customers ask when my books will come back.

I can't describe the incredible feeling it has given me to share my stories with others, to have my work family support me, to have my manager create a display of my books, and how much it has touched my heart to have an onslaught of encouragement!!

Thank you to everyone who has shared my books, read and reviewed my books, asked me questions, gave me your input, encouraged me, and just been my friend. I couldn't have done this without my family and friends, and definitely not without my readers. I appreciate you all more than I can say!!

So, today, Readers, I wanted to share with you this experience. It meant a lot to me, and I hope those who have been there for me realize that. I'm grateful for each and every one of you.
