How to Live Another Life Through Beginnings

Beginnings On Life:

Beginnings is an unconventional debut of collected poems meant to give you a little of everything to enjoy. You may wish for that soulful uplift, a little laugh, or an outlet for any emotion. Life is random, and sometimes, what you read needs to be random as well.

Savor her eclectic mix of poetry designed to remind you of your first love, the heartbreak of loss, special memories of family, spiritual connections, the appeal of nature, and the expectations we have of life.

Rebecca Reddell’s inspiration is to find the light in the darkest of places.

Challenge accepted.

I'd like to share a few of my favorite poems with you and give you an introduction to Beginnings. I hope you'll enjoy my reflections on life, emotion, family, inspiration, and love. Sometimes you live your best life when you read and connect to what someone else has been through.

Welcome to my world.

Poems of Inspiration: "To Peace"

to glimpse a part of heaven

to see the sky at evening

to wake up with the dawn's light

to live without your own fear

to see a child's pure delight

to look in eyes without hate

to breathe in breath untainted

to feel secure in yourself

to let go of your regret

to love without pain and plight

to forgive the mistakes made

to make use of your own light.

Poems of Nature: "The Feet of a Thousand Horses"
The suggestion of hooves in the clear, quiet night

with the silken flash of velvety delight

The muffled murmur of soft galloping steps

While the allusion of the trickling river wept

In the pale moon's glow that caresses the earth

with silent fingertips that delude the mirth

of the secrecy the veil of darkness hides

Where the feet of a thousand horses still glide

The sigh of the wind rustles through their downy strands

and their vague stride is subdued throughout the lands.

Poems of Life: "Released"
We all know what it means to begin,

to start over once again...

does anyone ever really know how to continue?

when there is rain,

when the storm rages on,

when the fury is released?

Poems of Emotion: "Guilt"

Perish,

Boiling monsters

Rage-seeking

Blame

Choking lies

Fear paralyzes

Pretense,

A delicate hostage.

Poems of Family: "My Sister"
Bunkbeds,

Bubbles,

Hearts – the card game,

Sleepovers

with giggles,

Imitating

You,

Who saw the dog first?

Car rides and soy sauce smells

At grandma’s and grandpa’s house,

eating pizza and homemade spaghetti

Dance moves – Can I do this?

80’s hair – only you could pull that off

Optimism overdrive

Remember when we were kids?

You got me hooked on Riesen

Trading chocolate marshmallow eggs

for peanut butter cups

Late night movie giggles

and cheesecake cups

My favorite picture:

You are holding me,

my bald head covered in a knit cap

We

Were

Inseparable.

Poems of Love: "Beginnings"
Life laughs,

Music plays,

My soul lingers -

fortified by warmth,

encased in fingers.

Waking up -

your smell,

ingrained,

Delicate beginnings.
