Book Reviews: Kasie West

Finding a new book is one of the most therapeutic processes in the world. I love reading the synopsis on the back, smelling the inside, flipping through the pages, and looking over the front covers. It's like having a new gift to open and explore.

I usually find lifelong friends within the pages of a book. It's enjoyable to meet them on the first page and take a journey with them all the way to the end. Their growth, decisions, and personalities make every page a pleasure.
The plots that authors develop and write give me the opportunity to delve into someone else's story. It's a delight to escape into a whole new world and become someone else for a little while.

I'm sure all readers feel this way, and it's a marvelous sentiment to connect with others over a shared love of books. So, today, I wanted to share three books by Kasie West which have captured my attention and interest.

Her writing is fun, flirty, and effortless. Each book is a quick read and envelopes you in the story from word one. I love her characters and likable scenarios. Her contemporary YA romances are a must-read for those who enjoy depth to their characters, well-rounded personalities, and charm. I'm already hunting for my next Kasie West book because I know I won't be satisfied until I've read them all!

I really enjoy Kasie West's YA novels and her take on characters and plot. By Your Side does a lovely job of helping to give every reader the chance to find out what being stuck inside a library might be like. I think as readers we've all wished and hoped to be stuck inside a library. The fact that Autumn gets trapped inside with a cute, mysterious boy makes it a dream come true (well, for us readers anyway). The friendship between Autumn and Dax is wonderful to read, and I enjoy their evolution as individual characters as well as their relationship. It has a great foundation in reality with how to deal with anxiety, failed friendships, and how we all make mistakes. Enjoyable and fun read!!

Sweet Read
I loved On the Fence!! I really enjoy romance stories that portray friends developing feelings for each other. It's a great storyline, and Kasie West's interpretation had me smiling and laughing throughout. I loved the interactions between Charlie and her brothers. They're supportive, protective, and funny. Charlie's late-night discussions with Braden are adorable and help me see the validity in their growing relationship and care for each other. I really love Charlie's personality, enjoyment of sports, ability to hold her own around the guys, and her deviation from more standard female characters. Definitely a must-read!!

Must Read - Fun Romance
I've come to love Kasie West's contemporary YA stories, and this tale definitely entertains and gives me a fuzzy feeling inside. I liked the twist of action right at the beginning of the story when Gia is dumped by her college boyfriend in the parking lot of her school. On prom night. Her no-nonsense attitude and bold steps to not enter without a date leaves her meeting Hayden, sitting in the parking lot waiting for his sister at prom, who becomes the stand-in boyfriend (aka: the ex-Bradley).
I love the interaction between the characters and how the story evolves. Gia ends up not being able to forget Hayden and pays back the favor by being his fill-in girlfriend next. His sister helps the couple along and ends up becoming a good friend to Gia, who is having a hard time with her own group of friends.
This is a lovely story of girl-meets-guy, a friendship develops into feelings, old friendships pass away, and a girl finds out how to be herself. I love the characters and highly recommend this delightful read to anyone who loves a little romance in their life.

I hope you enjoy my mini-reviews of these reads and find a new read tucked within these three books or with any of Kasie West's books. If you have any books you'd like to suggest for me and other readers, feel free to comment and share!!

Thanks for joining me, and as always, Happy Reading!!
