The Courage Map: 13 Principles to Living Boldly by Franziska Iseli

Ahh, courage. One of those words that sounds beautiful and wholesome and obtainable. However, reality is sure in its own opinions that you cannot hold onto this word with any real adequacy if you aren't put through the fire first. This is a portion of my own experience riding the wave of bravery, but it dovetails nicely into the reading of this next book. Picking up The Courage Map: 13 Principals to Living Boldly by Franziska Iseli was in part due to a random voice over the email asking if I'd be interested in reading the book because of my great love of Brene Brown's The Gifts of Imperfection and Daring Greatly as well as Rachel Hollis's Girl , Stop Apologizing , and the honest to goodness realization that it was exactly the next type of book I wanted to read. Of course, I found it to be right down the path I wanted to take.  Book Blurb via Amazon :  Courage Can Turn an Ordinary Life into an Extraordinary Adventure  "Why do some people have the courage to m...

The Tether by Julia Ash

Image
A few months ago, I introduced readers to Dark Fantasy Author Julia Ash. I read the first book in her ELI Chronicles series, The One and Only . It was the first book I've read in this sub-genre, purposefully and with great trepidation. And I LOVED it!!  Author Julia Ash  is "author of a dark-fantasy trilogy (The ELI Chronicles) which includes THE ONE AND ONLY (April 2018), THE TETHER (April 2019), and THE TURNING POINT (planned for release in the spring of 2020). As a realist with a passion for the fantastical, Ash enjoys reading and writing fresh twists involving monsters in literature (zombies, vampires, and werewolves). She lives with her husband Rick and two Brittany bird-dogs on Maryland's Eastern Shore." ( a s found via Amazon ) Of course, I wanted to find out what happened next in this spooky thriller, and I ordered both books posthaste. When I originally gave this series a try, I ordered the ebook version of The One and Only . Enjoying it so mu...

The Case of the Bad Twin (Piper Investigations) by Shannon Greenland

Image
Author Shannon Greenland is one of those authors that I've come to love. Her work, specifically The Specialists , has become a part of my permanent library. Like a few other authors, Julia Ash to name one, I'm always excited to see them come out with a new book. Their work has become a piece of my world, my life, and it pleases me to be able to share another book from them. In fact, all of Greenland's books are on my to-read list, and I'm always sad that I haven't gotten to them faster.  You know what I mean? Those to-read lists will outlive me!😳 Coming out this June is another beginner series from Shannon. It's the start of her Piper Investigation series . A youthful story geared toward middle-grade readers, she gives us a mystery series that piques the interest of even the oldest of readers (I'm speaking of me, just in case you were wondering, lol).  The Case of the Bad Twin gives us a new character to love. Below is the synopsis from Am...
